Cue the Curves app helps plus-sized women find fashion that fits and flatters. Cue the Curves is an app that helps plus-sized women find clothes that make them look and feel good. For our series "Changing the Game," founder Charlotte Oxnam explains why clothes shopping can be an ordeal for curvy women.


Cue the Curves, a social shopping app for plus-size fashion, has won VentureCat, Northwestern University’s annual student start-up competition powered by the Levy Institute for Entrepreneurial Practice and cosponsored by Lanny and Sharon Martin.

Twenty-five semifinalist teams competed for more than $325,000 in prize money, with Cue the Curves taking home a total of $160,000 (including the $10,000 that all finalists get for making it to the semifinal and final rounds).

Cue the Curves Makes Shopping More Inclusive. As spring quarter in 2022 came to an end, engineering student Charlotte Oxnam felt deflated.  

The sole founder of her startup, Cue the Curves, Oxnam had gone through a grueling application process — including six interviews — for Techstars Chicago Accelerator, a highly competitive entrepreneurial mentorship program. But she hadn’t heard back about a final decision.

Oxnam started Cue the Curves as a fashion blog to improve the shopping experience and create a supportive environment for plus-size people.
